About the Artist

Helgi is born, and has lived most of his life by the coasts of the Northern Atlantic Ocean. Living there, exposed to the violent and everchanging seascapes has been a great source of inspiration. This inspirational background can be recognised in most of his art. Helgi is working mainly in pewter, and for this metal he has developed a unique technique. Each piece is built up individually. The texture is formed completely freehand - no casting or moulds - and the colors are kind of oxidation, changing and living with the light like a landscape, the midniht Sun or the Northern Light. Pewter has been used for several thousands years for thousands different purposes: but never like this before.
